Travel Status Oman
Oman
Increased attentionOman is located away from active conflict zones, but it feels the effects of regional tensions in the Middle East. Muscat and most tourist regions remain fully accessible. Increased caution is advised for certain coastal areas (ports of Sohar, Duqm, and Salalah) and areas bordering Yemen. The Netherlands classifies most of Oman as 'yellow' (exercise caution); the German Federal Foreign Office has issued a formal travel warning. We recommend following your country's official travel advice.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is my trip to Oman still on?
For most of Oman, including Muscat and the main tourist regions, there is no travel ban. The Netherlands and Great Britain recommend increased vigilance; the German Foreign Office has issued a travel warning. Your trip will take place as planned, provided there is no official travel warning for your specific destination. We will keep you informed.
Can I rebook or cancel free of charge?
Yes. We offer free rebooking for all current bookings to Oman. In the event of an official travel warning for your destination, you are entitled to a full refund. Contact us to discuss your options.
My flight is with Emirates / Etihad / Qatar - what now?
These airlines are currently operating on a restricted schedule. We are monitoring the situation and will contact you proactively if your specific connection is affected. Alternatively, we would be happy to arrange a flight for you with Oman Air, which is operating normally.
Does the travel warning from the German Federal Foreign Office apply to all of Oman?
The Federal Foreign Office has issued a nationwide travel warning. The Netherlands and Great Britain classify most parts of Oman as 'increased attention' (not a ban). As a German-speaking tour operator, we explicitly draw attention to the German travel warning and recommend that you check your travel insurance for coverage.
Does my travel insurance cover the costs?
That depends on your policy. Many insurance policies will cover you if the Office issues an active travel warning. We recommend checking your insurance terms and conditions or contacting us, we'd be happy to advise you.
